Configuration - Windows Live Mail

In this section, we will give the exact steps to configure Rainmail Email Server in Windows Live Mail 2011 running on a Windows 7 System.

  1. Run WLM 2011 by going to Start -> All programs -> Windows Live Mail. That will bring up the following Window.

  1. In the above Window, select Email from Accounts menu. That will bring up the following page.

  1. Enter Email address, Password and user name in Display name for your sent messages field. Check Manually configure server settings, and click on Next button. That will bring up the following dialog.

  1. Select the following in above dialog
    • IMAP as Server Type.
    • IP address (or) Host name of Rainmail Server for Server address
    • Account name in Logon user name
    • Check Requires authentication
    • Select Next. This will bring up the following dialog.

  1. Click on Finish to complete the process. The first time the program is started, Folders from the server will be downloaded and following dialog will be displayed.

  1. Once the folders are downloaded, emails will be available in Client and user can start sending/receiving emails using Windows Live Mail.
